Position Overview

The Director of Construction opening is a perfect fit for someone who enjoys managing processes, budgets, and deadlines. You will play a major role in assembling and organizing our construction team. It is important to have a vast knowledge of residential construction. The Construction Manager will need the ability to create and follow processes for consistent results. If you get energy from planning and executing detailed construction efforts, producing quality renovations, and profitability. You just found the perfect job for you!

What will I do?

  • Lead, Manage, and Drive Accountability (LMA) for all construction teams and subcontractors
  • Hire and onboard new Construction Team Members
  • Manage scope, budget, timeline, and paperwork for construction projects
  • Provide leadership on projects to other employees, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Maintain a daily log for the job site’s operations, reporting to management as necessary
  • Create changes in the operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlines and increase profitability
  • Monitor and measure project performance to identify areas of improvement for adjustments
  • Implement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient
  • Drive profitability by reducing costs without sacrificing finish quality
  • Complete projects on time or early according to the construction schedule
  • Manage costs associated with each stage of construction
  • Source for new vendors and establish relationships 
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with all contractors and/or contractor representatives
  • Attend weekly meetings to discuss and report to upper management.
  • Utilize management software to establish schedules, daily reports as well as payment authorization.
  • Monitor budgets, invoices, and Team Member incentive approvals
  • Verify vendors have the necessary tax and insurance documents
  • Ensure the renovation pricing matrix is updated quarterly
  • Assist in deploying the vision and any new initiatives set forth by the CEO

What do I have to have?

  • 5+ years of  residential construction management experience
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and processes
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans
  • Solid background in construction estimating
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects within a budget and timeline
  • Desire to work as part of The Team
  • Strong software and internet skills
  • A high level of ambition and determination
  • Strong communication skills via in-person conversation, telephone, email, text, and mail
